Day 1

Cairo:

Arrival atCairoInternational airport. An arrival transfer from the airport to the hotel is included. Join your fellow passengers and Trip Leader this evening to learn more about your trip.

Day 2Cairo, Aswan:

In the morning accompanied by a qualified, English speaking Egyptologist, we visit the Egyptian Museum housing over 100,000 relics including the magnificent treasures of King Tutankhamun. We then visit the Great Pyramid of Giza, the only surviving member of the ''Seven Ancient Wonders of the World''. This evening we board the first class overnight train to Aswan (B).

Day 3

Aswan:

We arrive in the morning and transfer to our cruise boat on the banks of the Nile. We then board a felucca to sail around the Elephantine and Kitchener Islands. We continue to a Nubian Village to learn about the lifestyle of the original inhabitants (B, L, D).

Day 4

Aswan, Edfu:

Early morning there is the option to visit the amazing temple complex of Abu Simbel or we can visit the markets. In the afternoon our cruise boat departs and we can watch life on the banks of the Nile from the decks. On the way we pass via Kom Ombo and stop to visit the temple (B, L, D).

Day 5

Edfu, Luxor:

The journey continues to the town of Edfu where we visit the temple dedicated to the sky god, Horus (B, L, D).

Day 6

Luxor:

We continue along the river arriving at the ancient capital of Thebes followed by a guided tour of the Valley of the Kings. A highlight for all visitors to Egypt is the guided tour of the Valley of the Kings. This magnificent necropolis houses the tomb of king Tutankhamun. We also visit the Ramesseum Temple. One of the most famous sites in Egypt. This magnificent necropolis houses the tombs of the pharaohs, including that of king Tutankhamun. We also visit RamesseumTemple. After lunch, our guide introduces us to the amazing Temple of Karnak as we take a trip by air-conditioned mini-bus to explore the Temple of Luxor. Our tour of the East Bank discovers the magnificence of what once was the capital of Egypt. There is also time to visit the colourful market of the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Our guide then introduces us to the amazing Temple of Karnak as we take a trip by air-conditioned mini-bus to explore the Temple of Luxor. The tour of the East Bank continues, discovering the magnificence of what once was the capital of Egypt. There is time to visit the colourful gold and silver markets of Luxor (B).

Days 7-8

Hurghada:

This morning we head across the desert to Hurghada on the beautiful coast of the Red Sea. The days are free to enjoy the beach and facilities. Optional activities include diving, boat tours and desert safaris. (B, D, B, D).

Day 9

Hurghada, Cairo:

After breakfast we depart back toCairo(B).

Day 10   : All good things must come to an end and the trip finishes at the hotel after breakfast (B).
