Day 1
Cairo: Arrival at Cairo International airport. An arrival transfer from the airport to the hotel is included. Join your fellow passengers and Trip Leader this evening to learn more about your trip.

Day 2
Cairo Aswan: In the morning accompanied by a qualified, English speaking Egyptologist, we visit the Egyptian Museum housing over 100,000 relics including the magnificent treasures of King Tutankhamun. We then visit the Great Pyramid of Giza, the only surviving member of the ''Seven Ancient Wonders of the World''. In the evening we board the first class overnight train to Aswan, a city with relaxed charm after bustling Cairo (B).

Day 3
Aswan: This morning we transfer to our cruise boat on the banks of the Nile. After freshening up in our cabins we board a felucca to sail around the Elephantine and Kitchener Islands, We continue to a Nubian Village to learn about the original inhabitants of this region. This afternoon is free to visit the colourful markets in Aswan before returning to the cruise boat for dinner (B, L, D).

Day 4
Aswan---Edfu: Today there is the option to visit the amazing temple complex of Abu Simbel. Otherwise this morning we can visit the markets. Lunch is on board watching life on the banks of the Nile from the panoramic decks (B, L, D).

Day 5 
Edfu---Luxor: The journey continues to the town of Edfu where we visit the temple, dedicated to the falcon headed sky god, Horus. Disembarking, we travel by horse and carriage to visit the almost intact 'Temple of Horus' (B, L, D).

Day 6
Luxor: We continue along the river arriving at the ancient capital of Thebes. A highlight for all visitors to Egypt is the guided tour of the Valley of the Kings. One of the most famous sites in Egypt. This magnificent necropolis houses the tombs of the pharaohs, including that of king Tutankhamun. We also visit Ramesseum Temple, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Our guide then introduces us to the amazing Temple of Karnak as we take a trip by air-conditioned mini-bus to explore the Temple of Luxor. The tour of the East Bank continues, discovering the magnificence of what once was the capital of Egypt. There is time to visit the colourful market of Luxor for gold and silver which Egypt is justly famous. In the evening we board the overnight first class train to return to the capital (B).

Day 7
Cairo: Arriving in Cairo mid-morning we transfer to the hotel to freshen up. The rest of the day is spent further exploring Cairo. We visit the necropolis of Saqqara, including the step Pyramid of King Zoser. Returning to the city we visit Coptic Cairo and some of the oldest churches in the history of Christianity. In the afternoon we take time to visit the vibrant Khan el Khalili market (B).

Day 8
Cairo: The trip ends at the hotel after breakfast (B).
